Illinois Conservative Examiner –
Illinois is a one-party state dominated by a virulent Democrat Left enabled by a complicit media where every agency of city, county, and state government is the result of patronage or run by and for the public employee unions. It’s a state, and a city (Chicago) that is slowly going broke due to machine politics. Most people just want to cook their dinner and feed the kids and walk the dog and mind their own business. While that’s understandable, that kind of mindset is what got us into this mess.
In Illinois, we (read Democrats) hate the evil, greedy rich in the suburbs. Except the rich athletes and those in the entertainment industry and anyone who will fix it so Barack Obama can buy a Southside mansion for half anyone else would be forced to pay. The Democrats love people who sneak into Illinois to eat the bounty created by the productive rich. Illegals get benefits from various generous welfare programs, free medical care, free schools for their kids, including meals, and of course, instate tuition rates and scholarships too. Nothing’s too good for our “guests”.
Chicago is a Sanctuary City and Rahm ‘Dead Fish’ Emanuel last year told his best friend and president of the United States, Barack Obama, to go to hell when he refused to allow the feds to arrest anyone (he means illegals) in HIS city.
Most of Illinois is fed up with Chicago. Illinoisans are fed up with the Democrat Machine’s corruption, its monetary mismanagement and its stranglehold on the state. Yes, Chicago is a beautiful city and offers many fine attractions. The Chicago lakefront is a remarkable sight. Of course, there are many businesses in those high-rise office buildings. Beyond that, in many ways Chicago has become an albatross on the rest of the state. Perhaps it is time Chicago and Illinois went their separate ways.
If you look at a map of Illinois, it is a red state and not a blue state. You take Cook County out of the equation and Illinois largely is a Republican state. Suburban Cook, which used to be solidly Republican, now leans Democratic, but Republicans can still win in Suburban Cook. In the Chicago area, Lake, McHenry, Kane and Will counties often swing between Republican and Democrat, though they all lean Republican. DuPage is still solidly Republican.
