WASHINGTON –Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the following statement on House action to send to the Senate a bill to fully fund the government while delaying for one year the flawed healthcare law:
“The House of Representatives is listening to the American people. The public has been clear in their opposition to a healthcare law that is driving up costs and limiting choice for millions of Americans.
Today, the House passed legislation to achieve two key priorities for the American people—fully funding the government and delaying for one year this disastrous healthcare law. The President himself has implemented a one year delay in the law’s requirement for big businesses to provide insurance and a one year delay in the law’s privacy and anti-fraud provisions. It is only fair we extend this same relief to ordinary Americans.”
