Roskam: The Health Exchange Security and Transparency Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the following statement on the passage of H.R. 3811 The Health Exchange Security and Transparency Act:

“The Administration has refused to be forthcoming about Obamacare’s rocky rollout. Today, the House passed The Health Exchange Security and Transparency Act, shining a light on the deeply rooted problems within the law’s website, Healthcare.gov. The legislation requires health officials to notify people within two days when there is a security breach on the site. Individuals must submit their Social Security Number and date of birth on Healthcare.gov – an identify thief’s dream – even though technology experts repeatedly warned of ‘limitless’ and ‘high’ security risks. Americans deserve to know the truth about Obamacare. And as ordinary people feel the full impact of the law this year, the House will not stop its deliberate and thoughtful approach to ease the burden of the health care law and make sure the Administration is honest about its effects on the American public.”
